You are invited to attend the Lighting of the Trees Ceremony at First Family Church on November 16, 2008 starting at 5:00 PM! What a special time it will be to start the holiday season with a fun-filled evening for the entire family.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your child is enrolled in the Kansas City School of Music through First Family Academy, their first performance is at the Lighting of the Christmas Trees Ceremony. Please read the image above for performance details! The performance is for students Pre-K through Elementary ONLY.

Letter From the Principal:
November 4, 2008
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe it…but November is upon us! Before you know it, you’ll be dressing the turkey for Thanksgiving! As we move into the holidays, I’d like to keep you posted on some very important dates and information.
Picture Day is Tuesday, November 11th starting at 8:15am for the Blue Hall. Everyone else is Wednesday, November 12th starting at 8:15am. If your child does not regularly attend on one of these days, you may come between 8:15 and 9:30am on either day to have your child’s picture taken. Sign-up sheets for this service can be found at the front desk.
Our PTM meeting is November 20, 2008 at 7:00pm. Instead of the traditional PTM, we will be hosting our Thanksgiving Feast. There will be no childcare. The academy will supply the turkey! Sign-up sheets will be on your child’s classroom door.
o Blue Hall: Bring drinks
o Yellow Hall: Bring a side dish
o Green Hall: Bring Salad or Bread
o Elementary: Bring Dessert
Holiday Reservations Forms went home with your students yesterday. It is very important that these forms are returned ASAP. If your child did not receive one, you may get another copy online OR at the front desk.
Lighting of the Christmas Trees: Our student will be performing for the first time with the Kansas City School of Music on November 16th. A flyer will be going home soon with more information.
Operation Christmas Child: This year our boxes are going to India and China!!! What a great way to involve your child in the spirit of giving. Please bring all boxes to the front desk no later than November 20th. Should you have any questions about Operation Christmas Child, please contact Carol at the front desk or email her at carolg@ffc.org.
Candy Sale: Please help us raise money for our much-needed playground equipment. We’ll keep selling till the boxes are all gone! Thanks in advance for your support!
Christmas Musical: December 11th at 7:00pm. More information coming soon.
In closing, I’d like to take this time to thank you for choosing First Family Academy. As I reflect upon each student and family, my spirit is just warmed. You are such a blessing to me!

Operation Christmas Child- begins October 26th
First Family Academy is very excited to be participating again this year in Operation Christmas Child. Last year, the Academy collected 135 Christmas Shoe Boxes which were sent to Panama. This year, our goal is to send 200 boxes. These Shoe Boxes will be going to the countries of India and China.
The Shoe Boxes will be filled with small toys, hats, mittens, personal hygiene items and special literature which will include the Gospel message, and follow-up programs to minister to the heart and souls of children and their families world-wide.
Please help the Academy children mae an eternal difference in the lives of needy children and their families. Operation Christmas Child would be a wonderful tradition for all our families to participate in.
We will be sending home information on how to pack a shoe box and all other pertinent information you will need to participate.
Our Operation Christmas Child display will be up Monday, October 20th and you can pick up information on how you can change the life of a child and spread the Gospel.
You can also see Carol at the Children's desk. We are asking that each family donate one box for either a boy or girl to help us achieve our goal! You will be so glad you did!
